Moms really do it all! From dishes, cleaning up, laundry, feeding the family, how many of us are taking care of ourselves? In the past couple of months, I could feel unwanted energy rising when I was home with the little ones while my husband was out enjoying hours of golf. He needs his alone time too, he is the provider and works extremely hard. However, I knew I needed a few hours to myself (that didn’t include working out). I craved socializing with adults and SELF CARE. By chance, I saw an ad for Alpharetta Women’s Retreat on Facebook (oh Facebook, you know me so well).

“Take some time out for yourself to enjoy an afternoon of wellness and wonderment. This women-only event will allow you to learn, relax, and reset in a healthy and supportive space.”

I was SOLD and signed up immediately. Best of all, it only cost $30! The event was held at the beautiful EVEN Hotel. If you get a chance, check out the hotel site! This is the first hotel I have seen with a fitness/wellness concept (exercise equipment in each room, awesome gym, healthy menu).

Snacks and goodies for the guests!

The 3 hour event consisted of:

The speakers kept the topics interesting, interactive and authentic. The yoga class was 45 minutes, it was a basic flow that was grounding.  I was really drawn to the Soul Care discussion, we always hear about SELF CARE but what about soul care? This can mean making space for creativity, calmness, enjoying silence for 10 minutes or moving meditation. Ending with a Sound Bath meditation was perfection. At the end, Jessica allowed us to sample standing in a large sound bowl to experience vibrational energy. I wish I got a picture.

As previously stated, $30 for 3 hours was affordable and so worth it. Being around a group of women, laughing and enjoying ourselves “filled my cup” and fed my soul.  Kudos to the City of Alpharetta and EVEN Hotel for hosting a wonderful event.

Have you ever been to a wellness retreat? Was it over a day or weekend (or longer)?
