Raise your hand if you have this skincare issue: oily skin prone to breakouts yet you need to fight wrinkles! I’ve never had clear skin but sweaty workouts add to the issue. I’ve suffered from major breakouts since my teenage years. Things were so bad that my parents should have taken me to a doctor (they thought they could cure all at home). After high school, the only skincare line that helped was the HSN line Serious Skincare. I used this line until I turned 30.

Fast forward to today. Being over 30 (OK, closer to 40) with a sweaty lifestyle, I have to not only combat wrinkles but continue to fight breakouts. Help! Brazilian Jiu Jitsu doesn’t help the cause (bacteria city on the mats and rolling partners). What’s a gal to do? Going to a dermatologist is probably the best option, as I should have as a teen. Goodness, I’m turning into my parents.

My solution is currently in progress but 5 days in, I’m 100% sold on my regimen. My skin has cleared up so much!

Skincare for dark spots

  1. Wash (I use Shea Moisture African Black Soap)
  2. Exfoliate* (2-3 times a week with apricot scrub)
  3. Toner (I use witch hazel)
  4. Serum (vitamin C + hyaluronic acid in AM; retinol in the PM)
  5. Jade roller in the morning Jade roller
  6. Mask/Treatment* (rotate between sheet masks, clay masks, peels)
  7. Moisturizer (I’ve been using L’Oreal Revitalift Cicacream)
  8. EVERY 6 WEEKS: I will use the derma roller. I used it for the first time last Sunday and can already tell this will work for me.

Moisturizer Issue: I found I most drug store anti-aging moisturizes broke me out. I’ve tried a few higher end brands like Clinique and Philosophy but I didn’t see much difference in fine lines. I received a complimentary  L’Oreal Revitalift Cicacream sample to test and I’m a new fan. It seems to work on fine lines but it doesn’t break me out!

  1. I’ve always had issues with breakouts. They’ve been extra bad in the past few months. I found a regimen similar to yours on another blog. I’ve been using the black soap and witch hazel. I recently found a cheap micro needle roller at TJ Max, and I use it with Philosophy’s Hope Is Not Enough serum or sometimes AHA/BHA Acne Clearing Gel by Peter Thomas Roth. I like the prickly feel of the roller…weird I know, my skin feels softer, but the breakouts continue so off to the dermatologist I go in a few weeks for some stronger retinol.

  2. It came with 3 roller attachments:
    1.0mm(720 pins) for my face
    1.5mm(1200)for body rolling
    0.5mm(300)for lips and around eyes

So far, I’ve only used the one for my face.

  3. Wow! your post is excellent, just you have designed your post like the clipping path.
some people use before and after. However, your choice is excellent, I can not but praise your post and products.
