The last few weeks have been a bit rough on my body. Mid April, knee pain kept me from running and BJJ. At the end of the month, I ran 10 miles to get back into the groove! After that run, I decided I was going to create a May Madness Running Plan and run a marathon…then I got hit with a nasty cold.
My original May Madness Running Plan was to train and run a marathon in 30 days! Crazy, I know. Unfortunately, I lost precious days at the beginning of the month due to illness. Perhaps it was the universe telling me NOPE! 9 days into the month, I can’t make up for that lost time.
NEW PLAN: My May Madness Running Plan is to train and run for a couple of half marathons in 30 days! I hope to find another 5K to run this month.
I was hoping to register for a race every weekend this month, hence the “madness” wording. The schedule below will have to do for now. I’m not going for PR’s this month, just fun in the sun.
- May 13: Mother’s Day Half Marathon (this will be ran at “training pace”- meaning SLOW)
- May 27: Half Marathon (this would have been my marathon day so I plan to pick up the pace)
- May 28: Memorial Day 5k (recovery pace)
Cheers to May Madness and not getting sick or injured again. Do you run/workout when you’re sick?
You are brave training for a half marathon in 30 days, better than I could do!
